Sakakawea Medical Center will be moving
into the new Sakakawea Medical Center beginning Monday, April 3, 2017. The move will take approximately 3 days to complete. During the move, the current (old) facility will remain open for admissions, emergency department visits, and/or other needed hospital care until 6:00 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017. Services affected during the move are as follows:
- Radiology will have limited services during the move
- Starting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4th, Respiratory Therapy will not be available for outpatient services (such as CPAP/PFT) without an appointment
- On Wednesday, April 5th Laboratory services will be limited to blood draws, tests will be sent to the Beulah Clinic for processing
- During the three day move, dietary services will be available for patients and residents only; public and employee meals will not be available
Once the new hospital has opened at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, no new admissions will be taken at the out-going (old) hospital facility. Any hospital admissions between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. should use the new hospital entrance. The Emergency and main entrance of the new hospital is located on the northwest corner of the facility.
