Sakakawea Medical Center Foundation’s Annual Fund Drive for 2021-2022 has begun! The purpose of this fund drive is to secure the finances needed for SMC to continue to meet current and future healthcare needs in our area. This is an opportunity for you as an individual to make an impact on the health and well-being of your community.
SMC Foundation’s goal is to help SMC continue to stay up to date with technology and industry standards that will allow for continued quality care for our communities. Your contributions play a valuable role in helping us achieve this goal.
Throughout the years, donations from community members and businesses have helped us purchase necessary technology updates and equipment along with education and community health programs. The following projects were funded by Foundation donations in the past year.
Ultrasound Machine: A new ultrasound machine was purchased for the hospital that produces clearer images, offers enhanced functionality to provide greater detail, and has lighter probes for better ergonomics.
Nurse Call Light System: The original call light system in Senior Suites was replaced with a new, up-to-date system that allows for better communication between staff and residents.
Breast Cancer Screening: Multiple breast cancer screening programs were again funded including the annual Mammography Marathon in October and a new event, “Cinco de Mammo,” in May.
Patio Furniture: A large outdoor umbrella and patio chairs were purchased for Senior Suites. This allows residents to enjoy the outdoors while being comfortable and shaded from the sun.
